HI POT TESTING
Hi-Pot or Dielectric Withstanding testing is designed to validate the insulation between atypical plane or potential layers. Gardien typically utilizes the IPC 3 step test methodology
- Apply voltage to net, waiting for ramp time
- Hold voltage for dwell time looking for any stray current
- Move to the next pair
GARDIEN MANUAL HI POT TEST
This method requires manual programming of an analyzer to test the pairs one at a time and is well suited to testing small numbers of pairs
GARDIEN FIXTURE HI POT TEST
We use a drilled fixture that is wired for pairs requiring test and an analyzer automatically sequences between the pairs, thereby removing the need for an operator to move test probes. The main advantage is that multiple pairs are quickly analyzed.
GARDIEN FLYING PROBE HI POT TEST
The final option is a fully automated test using a flying probe machine. The pairs are programmed in an adjacency method for the Flying Probe with an interface to a Hi Pot Analyzer.
