DEDICATED FIXTURES
Gardien can provide dedicated/wired fixtures for all types of dedicated machines with open interfaces. Typical supported interfaces are 32-pin/64-pin connectors or grid interfaces with SD, DD or QD set-up. Utilizing this technology Gardien can design fixtures with pin diameters as low as 40 micron when designed as a hybrid.

What are dedicated Fixtures?
Dedicated fixtures are ideal for low mix high volume production as they are more reliable and faster in production.
Dedicated fixtures are made using two or more horizontal plastic plates that are drilled with numerous small holes precisely placed in relation to each other. The test pins are guided into a vertical position by these holes.
During the test, one end of the pins contacts the PCB, or Unit Under Test (UUT), and the other is directly connected to the test electronics. The pins either send or receive electrical signals (current, voltage) through selected sets of test points, or nets, and the results are analyzed to check for breaks (opens) or shorts in each net.
This is designed to be used on one board type only; the pins being placed to correspond with specific test points. As it is board specific, this is a more expensive approach than a universal grid tester and turnaround is longer. Typically, the additional costs are offset by the high volume.
